Introduction

Making pasta on the grill is simple and adds a delicious smokey flavor to your dish. By grilling it on the cooktop before boiling it, you add a nice flavor you can't get any other way.

As you have the grill hot anyway, why not add some shrimp or chicken!

Ingredients

  • Your favorite pasta.
  • Pinch of Salt.
  • Pasta Sauce (your choice).
  • Grated parmesan.

Instructions

  1. Fire up your Arteflame grill and get it ready to grill.
  2. Add a pot of hot water to the cooktop and let it sit so it gets to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water.
  3. Add some cooking oil to the cooktop and put your raw pasta directly on the cooktop. Stir and cook until it turns a golden brown. (usually 10 - 15 mins.)
  4. Let the pasta cool until the water boils. Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook until al dente. This will take longer than usual, about 15 mins.
  5. Take the pasta out of the pot and drain the water. Add the sauce and the grated parmesan.

Tips

  • Use a thicker type of pasta like fettuccine or penne for better results.
  • Stir the pasta frequently while grilling to prevent burning.
  • Pair with a smoked sauce or fresh herbs to enhance the dish’s smoky undertones.

Variations

  • Add grilled shrimp or chicken for a protein boost.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for a healthier option.
  • Mix in roasted vegetables for extra flavor and texture.

Best Pairings

  • Pair with a crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or a light red such as Pinot Noir.
  • Serve with a side of garlic bread or a fresh green salad.
  • Top with fresh basil or a drizzle of olive oil for added richness.

Conclusion

This preparation will give the pasta a toasted, nutty flavor that goes well with understated sauces. It's a simple but effective way to elevate a classic dish. Enjoy!
