Introduction
Making pasta on the grill is simple and adds a delicious smokey flavor to your dish. By grilling it on the cooktop before boiling it, you add a nice flavor you can't get any other way.
As you have the grill hot anyway, why not add some shrimp or chicken!
Ingredients
- Your favorite pasta.
- Pinch of Salt.
- Pasta Sauce (your choice).
- Grated parmesan.
Instructions
- Fire up your Arteflame grill and get it ready to grill.
- Add a pot of hot water to the cooktop and let it sit so it gets to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water.
- Add some cooking oil to the cooktop and put your raw pasta directly on the cooktop. Stir and cook until it turns a golden brown. (usually 10 - 15 mins.)
- Let the pasta cool until the water boils. Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook until al dente. This will take longer than usual, about 15 mins.
- Take the pasta out of the pot and drain the water. Add the sauce and the grated parmesan.
Tips
- Use a thicker type of pasta like fettuccine or penne for better results.
- Stir the pasta frequently while grilling to prevent burning.
- Pair with a smoked sauce or fresh herbs to enhance the dish’s smoky undertones.
Variations
- Add grilled shrimp or chicken for a protein boost.
- Use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta for a healthier option.
- Mix in roasted vegetables for extra flavor and texture.
Best Pairings
- Pair with a crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or a light red such as Pinot Noir.
- Serve with a side of garlic bread or a fresh green salad.
- Top with fresh basil or a drizzle of olive oil for added richness.
Conclusion
This preparation will give the pasta a toasted, nutty flavor that goes well with understated sauces. It's a simple but effective way to elevate a classic dish. Enjoy!
