Start by lighting your Arteflame grill and allowing it to heat up. The flat cooktop should be hot, but not too hot, so adjust the heat accordingly to maintain a medium-high temperature.
If using fresh corn, shuck the ears and cut the kernels off the cob. If fresh corn is not available, you can use frozen corn kernels, thawed and drained.
Add the butter and olive oil directly onto the hot flat cooktop of the Arteflame grill. Allow the butter to melt and mix with the olive oil.
Once the butter is melted, add the corn kernels directly onto the cooktop. Spread them out evenly in a single layer. Let the corn cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes to develop a slight caramelization. Use a spatula to stir the corn, cooking it for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the kernels are tender and slightly charred.
Add the minced garlic to the corn on the cooktop. Stir the garlic into the corn, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Sprinkle the chopped parsley or basil over the corn and stir to combine. Add the red pepper flakes, if using, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for another minute to allow the flavors to meld together.
